Global Warming

What is Global Warming?
Heating of earth’s surface globally. On the basis of scientific research, it has been noticed that temperature of oceans and earth’s atmosphere are rising gradually. According to the 2007 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), earth’s temperature is increasing by 2.0°C – 5.4°C every year. The main cause behind the global warming is human activities like deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, sewage dump especially in rivers, increasing rate of industries and transports, electronics and media channels etc. All these phenomenon results greenhouse effects in the atmosphere.

Affects of Global Warming

Physical Impact on Earth
1)      Increase in earth’s temperature. Result: Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This includes mountain glaciers.
2)      Rise in sea level became faster.
3)      Rain and snowfall have increased across the globe.
4)      Floods and droughts will become more common.
5)      Less availability of fresh air and water.
6)      Changing in ecosystems and spreading diseases day by day.

Impacts on Living Beings
1)      Due to physical impacts n earth’s surface, balance in nature will become imbalance. Result: very hard to survive.
2)      Increase in percentage of carbon dioxide results in: acidic rain, breathing problems, exhausting of living body and dying of aquatic animals.
3)      Increase in infectious diseases day by day.
4)      Polluted air, water and food will only available which results death of living being.

Some live images that accelerates global warming:

Burning of jungle- This is not an accidental fire but an incident, fired by local people for cultivation or to destroy wild life to make themselves safe who live in jungle area. Against these major action, neither government nor forest department takes any action.

If the forest is declared as national park or sanctuary, then only government tries to take care of it otherwise its result is as shown in picture. In India, most of the regions are covered with forests but national parks and sanctuaries can be counted on finger tips. Rest jungles have been either destroyed by mafia for timbers and stones or by local people for their shelter and cultivation.

We cannot reduce industrialization but off course we can decrease rate of deforestation, but who cares?? After all everyone likes money, whether it comes by destroying forest or wild life. Now a days cost of life is as much cheap as a piece of paper.

By the next 10 months, our earth will become 4 degrees hotter than what it is now. Our Himalayan glaciers are melting at rapid rate. So let all of us lend our hands to fight GLOBAL WARMING.

  1. Plant more Trees.
  2. Don't waste Water & Electricity.
  3. Don't use or burn Plastics

Our Earth is burning. Use soft copy of documents as much as possible; avoid hard copy or printout unless it is not necessary. Save paper, save tree, Save Earth.

Raise your hand to join this marathon. What your activity results, whether it contributes to stop global warming or it accelerates it? Ask yourself.
